SKILLET REACH NEW CAREER MILESTONE WITH “FEEL INVINCIBLE” LANDING
AT #1 ON THE MAINSTREAM ROCK CHART
Debut Single From Latest Album Unleashed Gives Band
First-Ever #1 Single At The Format And Also Marks The First Time A
Christian Rock Band Has Reached The Top Of The Chart
(New York, NY – November 8, 2016) – GRAMMY®
nominated and multi-platinum selling rockers Skillet are celebrating their
first No. 1 single on the Mainstream Rock Chart with their anthemic hit “Feel
Invincible.” The song comes from their latest Atlantic Records release, Unleashed.
The band made the announcement yesterday to 500,000
fans via Facebook Live. “Feel Invincible” had already reached No. 1 at
Christian rock and marks the band’s sixth Top 10 single at mainstream rock
radio. Skillet is the first act from the Christian genre to top the chart.
Previously, "Awake and Alive" from 2009's AWAKE climbed to No. 1 on
Billboard's Active Rock chart, which was discontinued in 2013, along with
“Monster,” “Not Gonna Die,” “Sick of It” and “It’s Not Me It’s You” all
reaching top 10 or higher there as well.
Additionally, another track from UNLEASHED, “Back from the
Dead” was featured in World Wresting Entertainment’s 2017 Launch
Trailer for the WWE2K17 video game, which released on October 11th.
Skillet’s inaugural headline tour in support of Unleashed sold
out and packed crowds into venues across the U.S. this fall in Chicago,
Detroit, Cleveland, Minneapolis, Milwaukee, etc. This week, the band
launched their first European headline tour, kicking off with sellout shows in
Paris, London, Cologne, Budapest and more.
Skillet has cemented its place as one of the 21st
century’s most successful rock bands. Selling more than 11 million units
worldwide, the Wisconsin quartet have received two GRAMMY® Award nominations
and won a Billboard Music Award for the platinum-certified Awake.
Their double-platinum single “Monster” is “the eighth most-streamed rock song
of 2015” with a total of 57 million plays (and counting) on Spotify and would
earn the distinction of becoming “the best-selling digital single in the
history of Christian Music.” 2013’s Rise bowed at #4 on the Billboard
Top 200 upon release, received resounding and eclectic acclaim from the
likes of USA Today, New York Times, Revolver Loudwire,
etc. and was recently certified gold by the RIAA.
