The third annual RIDE FOR RONNIE Motorcycle Rally and Concert, benefiting the Ronnie James Dio Stand Up and Shout Cancer Fund on Sunday, May 7, 2017 will be highlighted by a host of celebrity riders joining the Motorcycle Ride through the streets of Los Angeles County. In addition, an all-star jam will be spearheaded by Guns N' Roses drummer Steven Adler-'Steven Adler and Friends'-during the afternoon of live music in Los Encinos Park. Last year's RIDE FOR RONNIE event raised over $50,000 for the cancer charity.
Celebrity riders expected to join Dio Cancer Fund co-founder and president Wendy Dio and the cavalcade of motorcycle riders include Sons of Anarchy actors Emilio Rivera (and also from the forthcoming series Mayans MC), Sean McNabb (who will also perform with Lynch Mob at the concert), Rusty Coones and Star Fields, as well as actor Chris Bruno (The Dead Zone) and musicians Lita Ford, Gilby Clarke (former Guns N' Roses guitarist), Taime Downe (Faster Pussycat) and Xavier Muriel (Buckcherry) along with KLOS Radio "Horns Up" show personality Stew Herrera. They will assemble at Harley-Davidson of Glendale with kickstands up at 11AM.
The afternoon of live music following the RIDE will be highlighted by "Steven Adler and Friends" in an all-star jam organized by the Guns N' Roses drummer. He will be joined by Mike Devin (Whitesnake), Lita Ford, Robert Sarzo (Hurricane), Alex Grossi (Quiet Riot), Patrick Stone (Budderside) and Jeff Pilson (Foreigner and former Dio guitarist), playing Guns N' Roses hits.
Live entertainment will begin at 12Noon provided by rockers Lynch Mob (http://georgelynch.com/ wordpress/), Eddie Money (www.eddiemoney.com), Rough Cutt (www.roughcutt.com), Dio Disciples (http://www.facebook.com/ DioDisciples), The Loveless (https://www.facebook.com/ theloveless666), Sonia Harley (http://soniaharleymediamu. wixsite.com/soniaharleyrocks), and No Small Children (http://nosmallchildren.com). Heavy metal's answer to "We Are The World" raised $2 million at the time, and there are plans being made to re-issue the recording in the future to benefit the Dio Cancer Fund.
Radio personality Eddie Trunk (http://eddietrunk.com/ ) will handle hosting duties, which will also include a raffle, silent and live auctions, food trucks, merchandise vendors and more. About RONNIE JAMES DIO STAND UP AND SHOUT CANCER FUND:
The Ronnie James Dio Stand Up and Shout Cancer Fund (www.diocancerfund.org) was formed in memory of the legendary rock singer Ronnie James Dio, who lost his life to gastric cancer in 2010. A privately funded 501(c)(3) public charity, the Ronnie James Dio Stand Up and Shout Cancer Fund has already raised nearly $2 million since its inception. Monies raised have been committed to the cancer research work of the T. J. Martell Foundation for Cancer, AIDS and Leukemia Research, the gastric cancer research unit of the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, where Ronnie was treated for gastric cancer during the last six months of his life, and other cancer research projects. Most recently, the Dio Cancer Fund has committed funds to support the research of Dr. David Wong and his team at the UCLA School of Dentistry in developing a simple, non-invasive saliva test for the early detection of cancer, which is in keeping with the Fund's mission of cancer prevention, research and education.
CARNIVORE Guitarist to Perform "30 Years of RETALIATION" Set at Black N' Blue Bowl 2017 Pre-Party Show, Headlined by CRO-MAGS
Saturday, May 20, 2017 @ Bowery Electric in New York City
Doors @ 3:30pm, $20, All Ages
When Brooklyn, NY thrash metal crossover band CARNIVORE wasfirst formed in 1982 by groundbreaking vocalist Peter Steele, no one could have predicted the influence they would inject into underground heavy metal culture, or the legacy Steele would carry on into Type O Negative. The raw energy of their aggressive and often shocking, violent live assaults reverberated beyond the walls of the New York City clubs they frequented, creating an impact acknowledged throughout the metal community even today.
CARNIVORE attacks once again on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at Bowery Electric in New York City (327 Bowery) as part of the Black N' Blue Bowl 2017 Pre-Party Show, featuring headliners Cro-Mags.
Retaliation era guitarist Marc Piovanetti a.k.a. "Marc Carnivore" will present "30 Years of Retaliation" and celebrate the life of Peter Steele by performing a set of tracks from the record, including "Sex and Violence", "Jesus Hilter", "S.M.D." and others. Marc will perform vocals and guitar alongside Adam Tranquilli (Bloodfeast, Retaliation) on guitar and backing vocals, Jake Blochinger (Circus of Steele, The Banner) on drums, and Paul LaPlaca (THOR, Circus of Steele) on bass and backing vocal. This is the first time any type of full CARNIVORE set will be performed by an original member since Peter Steele's passing.
Limited tickets for the event are nearly sold out and are available at the door and via www.theboweryelectric.
Marc Carnivore says: "I'd like to thank the Black N' Blue Bowl for hosting this year's first official anniversary set celebrating 30 years of Peter Steele's crossover masterpiece, Retaliation! This incredible opportunity to finally stage my favorite musicians and perform a long-awaited showcase of songs only from CARNIVORE's Retaliation, is literally a dream come true.
I've been trying to plan a proper tribute to Peter Steele's legacy ever since his untimely passing in 2010. I never got a chance to thank Peter for his incredibly positive influence on both my music and my personal life, so this show really means a lot to me. In my opinion, I think it's already kicked off the 2017 anniversary celebration worldwide. Every day fans from Europe, Asia, South America, Brooklyn, Vinnland and just about everywhere else ask me which songs we're going to play and what song we're going to open with. Aside from myself, there's only one other surviving original member of CARNIVORE, so I feel it's an important duty to carry on the legacy of the band. This performance is where CARNIVORE's fans, both young and "vintage", can finally witness the power and madness of Peter's legendary (and legendarily controversial) personal diary of thrash and mosh, live, in the flesh. I'll also be singing lead vocals at the show for the first time ever! So please wish me luck, and I'll see ya' 5/20... Children of Technology!"
Black N' Blue Bowl's "Cuzin" Joe Cammarata adds: "We are thrilled to be hosting the 13thyear of the Black N' Blue Bowl in New York City, and are especially excited about the "30 Years Of Retaliation" set at the pre-show. Peter Steele had deep roots in the New York hardcore scene having been involved in the iconic Agnostic Front Cause For Alarm album and having played so many CBGB matinees. His legacy lives on and we look forward to celebrating his life on May 20."
Black N' Blue Productions is run by "Cuzin" Joe Cammarata, Freddy "Madball" Cricien and friends, and it is the Hardcore production company. BNB events are already legendary for bringing back the best of the old, and ushering in the new; whether presenting the sold-out Black N' Blue Bowl, or regular gigs and parties - bands, DJs and fans converge. This year's Black N' Blue Bowl will take place on Sunday, May 21, 2017 at 1:00pm sharp and is an all ages show. Tickets are $35 in advance and $40 at the door and are available via www.pitchforkny.com or www.websterhall.com. The line-up features Gorilla Biscuits, Rest in Pieces, Token Entry, Terror and many more.
